Milonga

Essentia holds a weekly milonga at La milonguita del remo , a boating club in the banks of the river Po,  Amici del Remo in  C.so Moncalieri 422, Torino .

The space, during the Autumn, Winter and Spring, is intimate and cosy, both in size and hospitality leading to the choice of the word, "milonguita", which in Spanish means “little milonga” ( evoking the sensation of homely… i.e where one can feel at home).
But during the Summer the space is wide and open air, with trees all around

You are welcome to join us every Thursday from 10 p.m. to 2. 00 a.m to dance the night away.

How to get to “milonguita del Remo”:
from Torino, take the direction to  Moncalieri, pass by a discoteque called, Patio, and an well lit ice cream parlour , Re Sole, just after the curve turn a sharp right (there is a fluorescent number on the gate 422), down a steep hill  N.B: in the summer time it is better to park along the roadway ( C.so Moncalieri )

A little explanation for those of you who don’t dance Tango and may not know what , Milonga means!
It is a term that has two meanings: it is a more rhythmic form of tango (of Afro-Cuban origin)  and in the other sense is a place where you can socialize and dance ( a kind of ballroom).
 In the central part of Italy these places are known as "tanguerie", but, in Argentina they are known as  milonga or salon de baile.

In a milonga are danced: tango , milonga and vals (another variant of the Tango rhythm, reminiscent of the Viennese Waltz).
